FULHAM RENOVATION

Our brief was to collaborate with the architect to transform this tired Fulham house into a warm and uplifting home. We were involved from the outset in developing the layout of the new basement and in ensuring that every bit of space worked hard for this young family. As with any basement, the challenge was to ensure that this space felt integrated with the rest of the house and that the house flowed as a coherent whole. The finished space included a guest bedroom and bathroom, a spacious laundry and gym and a large playroom that doubled as an entertaining space. We included texture and colour to make this an interesting and atmospheric space whilst maximising the natural light. We introduced a warm colour palette of earthy neutrals, blues and pink and ensured that the bespoke joinery highlighted the wonderfully high ceilings.

On the ground floor, our challenge was to revamp the client’s existing kitchen to bring it up to date with the rest of the house. We were conscious that the kitchen units were well made and felt that the space could be transformed with new worktops, lighting and redecoration. The north facing sitting room at the front of the house was previously a cold and little used space in desperate need of zoning. By adding bespoke panelling, distinctive lighting and highlighting existing architectural features we made the most of the room’s lovely proportions and high ceiling, bringing it to life.

An airy master bedroom at the front of the house was given a luxurious and calm feel through the use of natural linens, velvet and oak flooring. Intelligent use of colour served to highlight the lovely proportions of the room. The bathrooms were renovated in a timeless style using limestone effect tiles and glass mosaics.

The planning phase of this project took 4 months whilst the work took one year. We provided a light project management service working alongside a very experienced team of builders.
